Lapis Lazuli is a semiprecious stone valued for its deep-blue color caused by the presence of the mineral lazurite. Lazurite is the source of the pigment ultramarine. Lapis lazuli is not a single mineral but an intergrowth of lazurite with calcite, pyroxene, and commonly small grains of pyrite (the shiny gold flecks throughout the stone).

These gorgeous lapis lazuli earrings feature fine natural deep blue lapis lazuli "petals" surrounding a center of fine diamonds. Each earring is 27mm in diameter with 7 oval cabochon lapis lazuli petals formed into a flower design. The center of the flower consists of (12) pavé set diamonds on each earring, totaling approximately 1/2 carat per earring (approx 1 carat total weight for the pair).
