Rare & Luxurious!

$40,000+ New - Ultra-small Movement

Lady's Solid 18 Karat Gold Audemars Piguet Backwind Watch w/30 Diamonds

This gorgeous circa 1970s Audemars Piguet watch represents one of the finest lady's watches ever made. Audemars Piguet is regarded as one of the most prestigeous Swiss brands of all time by knowledgeable watch collectors. Your friends who wear mere Rolexes will be green with envy. A comparable new Audemars Piguet would cost $40,000+ at a fine watch store.

This watch is powered by a very special backwind movement that Audemars produced in extremely limited numbers and used in only their top-of-the line watches. The ultra-small baguette-shaped mechanical movement rivals the world's smallest JLC caliber 101 as one of the smallest mechanical movements ever made. Because the high production cost, watches using this movement tended to be affordable by only the most wealthy customers.

The watch is executed entirely in 18 karat yellow gold with a matching solid 18 karat gold bracelet. The watch looks almost like new and shows virtually no wear. The fancy arched lugs are adorned with (30) genuine high-grade diamonds (VS, G-H color) totaling approximately 1/4 carat. The diamonds are mounted in solid platinum settings. Looking through the clear scratch-free glass crystal, you'll see a beautiful all-original silver dial (not refinished) with applied solid gold hour markers and gold hands. We've meticulously cleaned and detailed the watch and it's ready to be worn and enjoyed.

The watch is powered by a high-grade ultra-small 17-jewel Audemars Piguet manual backwind mechanical movement that is adjusted to 4 positions and temperature. This ultra-small movement measures just 6.2mm wide x 18.0mm long and is one of the smallest movements ever produced. The production cost of these small backwinds is astronomical and they were only used in A-P's top-of-the-line ladies' watches. Models with this movement are quite scarce and highly sought after by serious collectors. The watch winds, sets and runs beautifully.

This heavy solid 18 karat gold watch weighs 48.1 grams (1.54 troy ounces) and will fit up to a 7-1/8 inch wrist. Length can be adjusted by any local jeweler. The watch measures a petite 20mm (a little over 3/4 inch) wide and 16mm (5/8 inch) lug-to-lug. The dial is approximately 12mm (1/2 inch)wide x 6.5mm (1/4 inch) wide. The watch comes with an original vintage red leather Audemars Piguet red leather presentation box (shown in pictures). The box has a red velvet and white silk interior.
