Vintage 1960s Lady's Solid Platinum LeCoultre Backwind Watch w/34 Diamonds
Fit for a Princess! This stunning lady's vintage LeCoultre backwind watch is sure to be the envy of everyone who sees it! LeCoultre backwind watches are truly rare and special timepieces. They were some of LeCoultre's top-of-the-line and most expensive watches. This example is truly a museum-grade piece! A comparable new LeCoultre watch in a fine watch boutique would be priced in the tens of thousands of dollars.
The round LeCoultre-signed solid platinum case (hallmarked "PT 0.950") has long elegant curving lugs with scrolled ends. The case is encrusted with 34 fiery genuine diamonds on the bezel and lugs. 28 diamonds encircle the dial and another 3 diamonds adorn each lug. Approximately 1/2 carat of diamonds, total. The diamonds are LeCoultre factory-set and original to the watch. The case is satin-brushed on the sides with a polished back. You'll notice that the winding crown is located on the back of the watch instead of on the side, as with most watches. This gives the watch a much more refined and elegant look.
Looking through the pristine original crystal, you'll find a mint-condition original (not refinished) white dial with white-gold applied markers and white gold hands. The dial is in mint condition and shows no signs of aging or imperfections.
The watch is powered by it's original high-grade 16-jewel caliber 426/2 LeCoultre backwind duoplan movement that is adjusted to 3 positions. The watch winds, sets and runs nicely, though the it hasn't been timed or serviced while in our possession. This dainty watch measures approximately 13mm across and 27mm lug-to-lug. We've mounted it on a luxurious new black genuine lizard strap that will fit a wrist up to approximately 6.75 inches. Don't miss this one!
