RARE!
Circa 1962 Lady's Omega Backwind Watch! (Omega Reference 8064)!
Mint Condition!
Rare Backwind Movement! These miniature backwind watches were among the finest and most expensive lady's models produced by Omega. Very few were made and they were typically affordable only by the most affluent customers. This gorgeous solid 18 karat gold example has just returned from the Omega factory in Switzerland where it received a full service and restoration (at a cost of $1,000). The watch is absolutely pristine and perfect!
The solid 18 karat yellow gold Omega-signed case and band has a deeply engraved leaf pattern throughout. The condition is flawless, with no dents, dings or scratches anywhere to be found. The watch looks absolutely like new.
Looking through the clear, perfect crystal, you'll see a beautiful golden dial with black painted hour markers and lettering and gold stick hands with back accents. The dial is flawless, like the rest of the watch.
The watch is powered by its original Omega caliber 690 17-jewel fine Swiss manual wind baguette movement. These high-grade backwind movements have the winding crown mounted on the back of the watch to refine and streamline the look The movement is also built on a dual plane to allow for a larger balance and mainspring, adding to the movement's precision and power reserve. The watch winds, sets and runs perfectly, and it has just received a complete service by the Omega factory in Switzerland. The movement serial number (19582324) dates production to approximately 1962.
The watch itself measures 9mm (just over 1/3 inch) wide and will fit up to a 6-7/8 inch wrist. The length is easily altered by any local jeweler. The watch weighs 32.0 grams (1.03 troy ounces).
